GETTING HERE

Directions

Town Hall Theater is located in the heart of Middlebury, facing the town green. Look for a red brick building with an impressive bell tower.

From the North

Route 7 south to Middlebury. As you arrive in the village, the Middlebury Inn will be on your left. Route 7 takes a hard left just after the Inn, but if you continue straight you will see Town Hall Theater ahead on the right.

From the South

Route 7 north to Middlebury. As you arrive in the village, Route 7 makes a left around a small green. Stay left. The Middlebury Inn is on your right. Make another left to circle around the small green. You will see Town Hall Theater ahead on the right.

From the West

Route 30 or Route 125 to Middlebury. Both head directly to the center of the village. At the main intersection, with the Edgewater Gallery on your right, turn right. Travel up Merchants Row. Town Hall theater is at the end of the block on your right.

Theater Room Names

Did you know the rooms/stage in Town Hall Theater are named? One of the easiest ways to find where you need to be is to know the name of the room the event is in.

Affectionately know as the CLE, this room, which can be divided into two separate spaces, is located on the first floor of the expansion wing. In this space you can experience workshops, after school activities, weeknight dance classes, and so much more.

This room is also located on the first floor, in the historic theater. It has many uses, including a green room for acts using the main stage, a learning space for dance classes, a puppet making room and rehearsal space, to name a few.

Flowing right from the Byers Studio, you will find the William & Carolyn Jackson Gallery. Home to many local artists pieces, this room also includes the bathrooms as well as the historic well from when a farm house sat on this location!

Continuing through the historic theater, up the stairs from the Jackson Gallery you will come to the lobby of the Rothrock Main Stage. This area is where 2/3 of our events take place, and can be configured in almost any seating arrangement we can imagine thanks to the movable risers!

Named after the indomitable Jean Seller Gifford and located on the second floor of the expansion wing, Jean’s Place offers a cozy lounge for a pre-show drink, intermission conversation with old friends, or just a place to admire the view of the Maloney Plaza.

The Anderson Studio is located on the second floor of the new expansion wing, and offers a view never seen in Middlebury! Take in scenes from the Adirondacks from the balcony, or scenes from the latest METOpera HD screening all in this multi-purpose room.
